올해 4월부터 처음 방송하기 시작했는데
팟캐스트 영어방송 중에 상당히 괜찮은 프로그램이다.
아나운서가 짧은 지문을 영어와 한국어로 모두 읽어주기 때문에
영한-한영 훈련을 동시에 할 수 있다.
지문선택도 상당히 괜찮은 편이어서 짧은 몇 문장에도 쓸만한 표현들이 많이 나오고
특히 한국사람이 생각하기 어려운 영어적인 표현을 건질 수 있다.
회당 12분 정도로 듣는데도 큰 부담이 없다는 것도 장점이지만
워낙 내용이 좋다보니 방송분량을 좀 늘려줬으면 하는 바램도 있다.
1회 방송분 중에 기억나는 표현.
"호박에 줄긋는다고 수박이 되는가?"
이걸 영어로는 put lipstick on a pig 이라고 하는데
다름이 아니고, 아베를 비판하는 WP 기사의 댓글 중에 정확히 저 표현을 쓴 댓글이 있더라.
"이제와서 침략을 부정한다고 해서 침략을 했다는 사실이 사라지는 것이 아니다.."
